Our Mission
Changing Fates Equine Rescue of Delaware, Inc. (CFERD) is a 501(c)(3) all volunteer rescue dedicated to
locating abused, neglected, or unwanted horses. We then rehabilitate, retrain, and when possible, rehome
these horses. For horses not suitable for adoption, we will provide sanctuary for them for the remainder of
their life.
Adoptions
Adopters are carefully screened and must commit to provide appropriate care for their adopted horse for the remainder of the horse’s life. If they are unable to care for their adopted horse for any reason, they must
return it to CFERD. CFERD horses may never be sold, traded, or given away.
How to Help
Funds for CFERD come from donations, adoptions, grants, and fundraising events. Our need for funding
assistance is acute. Rescuing a single healthy horse can easily exceed $1,000. An unhealthy horse can require up to $500 per month for medications and veterinary care alone.
Our Team
We are dedicated to improving the lives of the magnificent horses we rescue, as well as supporting the
families who adopt them. The exhaustive labor of our small group of volunteers is well rewarded by the
knowledge that the horses in our care are safe.
